Magali “Maggie” Behar is a tenured Legal Administration and Accounting professional with over 35 years of hands-on experience.  Prior to founding Behar Solutions Group in early 2013, she assisted various South Florida law firms as their full-time Legal Administrator.

Maggie obtained her B.A. degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Barry University in Miami, Florida and holds a C.P.A. license from the State of Florida.

She also obtained a certificate in Law Office Management from Florida International University in Miami, Florida.  Maggie’s goal is to assist law firms by utilizing her technical and management skills to benefit her clients’ growth and success.  She is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Her Experience

Maggie has provided law firms with a myriad of services, in a wide variety of areas, including:

1) Overseeing all aspects of firm operations including human resources, benefit administration, accounting, facilities management, strategic planning, vendor relations, and marketing and development.

2) Guiding firms through growth over long periods, lease negotiations and space design for increased square footage, developing policies and procedures, integrating new practice areas, determining Human Resource needs and adequately staffing positions.

3) Directly responsible for the recruiting, screening, hiring, periodic evaluation and terminations of all personnel, including attorneys.

4) Solely responsible for the day-to-day performance and discipline issues for the support staff, including secretaries, paralegals, office services, accounting, etc.

5) Responsible for assembling a competitive benefits package to recruit and retain top talent, with annual review and adjustment to stay on the leading edge of our competition.

6) Devised general ledger accounts to appropriately track expenditures of the various divisions within the firm, as well as designed reports, which were adjusted frequently to allow for providing timely and critical data for management decisions.

7) Developed a budgeting process to suit the specific needs of firms, which provided the basis for controlling costs and directing resources to where they were most needed, while considering best and highest use.

8) Continuous assessment and measurement of budgeted goals to actual performance.

9) Continuously created formal day-to-day operating procedures, including standardizing practices and encouraging quality control, conformity, and work-flow organization.

10) Worked closely with IT personnel to develop, implement, and constantly refine procedures as the firms moved towards a “paperless” environment.

11) Negotiated with banks for substantial lines of credit and term loans, while controlling the need to leverage transactions.

12) Directly supervised Accounting/Billing personnel, IT Director and E File Clerk, and Office Services personnel.

13) Reported to Shareholders or Managing Partners with daily interaction, and monthly meetings.

14) Designed operating procedures to accommodate the unique needs of three geographically dispersed offices, while establishing standardization with high work product criteria.

15) Collaborated with the IT Director to discern the needs and establish adequate communication between the offices utilizing the latest technology, while remaining cost conscious.

16) Revamped accounting systems, including the implementation of new software to more adequately track and report both income and expense items crucial to the firm’s sustenance and growth.

17) Established support staff screening regimen to help identify candidates with the highest potential for success and longevity with the firm.
